​Michaela Fernandes is a multi-faceted artist originally from Goderich, Ontario currently residing in Toronto. As a professional performing artist, she has toured internationally with various Irish dance companies including The American Company of Irish Dance, Irish Dance Theatre and The Canadian Irish Dance Company. She has also collaborated with musicians throughout her career, including The Barra MacNeils and Cassie and Maggie. Her true passion is in connecting to audiences through performance and storytelling.

 

She began her visual arts journey at the start of the pandemic as a way to remain creative during a tough time for the arts. She paints largely from feeling and emotion to express her inner world experiences. She hopes that others can connect to her work in their own unique way and feel transported. Michaela comes from Caribbean heritage and that is a major influence in her artistic expression.
